	1 MILNE. A. A.; E. H. Shepard. Illustrates. COMPLETE SET OF WINNIE THE POOH FIRST EDITIONS. Four Volumes; When We were very young; Winnie the Pooh; Now We are Six; The House at Pooh Corner. Methuen and Co. London.,1924-1928  FIRST EDITIONS. 8vo. (7.7 x 5.2 inches). Four volumes. Illustrated throughout all four volumes with wonderful line drawings by E. H. Shepard. A clean and bright set, finely bound in recent full morocco leather bindings, each volume bound in a different colour to match the original publishers cloth bindings-Blue, Green, Burgundy, Pink. Spines with raised five bands. Compartments lettered, ruled and decorated in gilt. Single gilt ruled border on each board. Top edges gilt. Original decorative endpapers, by Shepard, are bound into the last three volumes (The first volume was issued with plain white endpapers). Shepard.Very good copy in near very good original red cloth boards with gilt lettering and decoration on spine and front board. Originally published in 1928, uncoloured, Shepard coloured his own line illustrations for this edition. A fine clean copy of the book in a very good colour illustrated dustwrapper. There is some minor rubbing to the top and bottom 1/4 inch of the spine and fading to the colours, otherwise a clean and bright example. Colour map endapapers. Neat previous owners inscription to the front free endpaper. Some minor offsetting to both the free endpapers, as often found with this book, otherwise a near fine, bright clean copy. The pages are crisp and clean throughout. Publishers pink cloth with gilt ruled border and illustration of Christopher Robin, Piglit and Pooh on front board. Spine lettered and ruled in gilt. Top edge gilt, the others untrimmed. Minor fading to the spine but both the gilt and cloth are still bright and clean. Decorative endpapers showing all the characters in silhouette.
