London.,1635 Second edition, with the addition of 17 original poems by Donne not included in the first edition of 1633. Small octavo (5.4 × 3.6 inches). Bound in 19th century full brown calf, spine with red morocco label, date in gilt at foot. Boards blind-panelled with fleur-de-lys design, bevelled edges. Marbled endpapers, red page edges. Neat ownership inscription of C. H. Firth,(the English historian Sir Charles Harding Firth (1857-1936), specialist in English history during the time of the English Civil War and the Commonwealth), to front blank. Frontispiece portrait of Donne at the age of 18 engraved by Marshall (minor paper reinforcement to blank fore-margin). Small paper restoration to lower outer corner of title page, text not affected. Small amount of worm damage at foot from B2 to E1, with loss of a few signatures but only occasionally touching text.
