FIRST THOMSON EDITION. 4to.(10.5 x 8.4 inches). 22 mounted colour plates, each with a printed paper guard. A fine and clean copy in an early fine binding of half green morocco. The spine has two raised bands, each with decorative gilt tooling. Tan title label, gilt. Gilt ruled box designs. There is an illustrated multi coloured leather onlay design to the middle of the spine showing a couple walking in the rain, under an umbrella. Blue cloth on boards. Marbled endpapers. Top edge gilt. Previous owners colour bookplate to the front paste down. A fine copy in a fine binding. The binding is unsigned but certainly the work of a master bookbinder.
