Complete deck of 48 cards, each illustrated on one side. A rare survivor still wrapped in the original pink paper and with a thin string tie to hold the rules card in place. Housed in the original two piece sliding box. the outer box is printed on the sides and one panel with a colour playing card mounted onto the other full panel. Also inserted is a sheet advertising Gibson's Games of Skill and Amusement, with one historical game being shown as including historical events up to 1914 and a military game. The Victoria and Albert Museum date the set to 1918. A remarkable set in original unopened condition and rare thus.
