Secker and Warburg. London. 1949.
FIRST EDITION. A very good copy in the publishers green cloth with red lettering to the spine. The closed fore-edge of the pages have just a couple of tiny spots and the spine is faded, otherwise this is a bright and clean copy. In the original red dustwrapper, designed by Michael Kennard. The spine has some uniform fading but still retains some of the red colour. Inner front flap is price-clipped. Rear panel has a piece missing from the bottom edge, but not affecting the lettering. The edges of the wrapper show some rubbing and a few small chips. Overall a very good book in a good wrapper.
