FIRST EDITION. Large 8vo. (9.5 x 7.3 inches). Illustrated throughout by the author. Some minor offsetting to the endpapers and a six line gift inscription on the front blank prelim but generally a very good copy in the original publishers decorative red cloth, lettered and illustrated in black and white, after a design by Kipling, to both boards and spine. The white in the cover design is dulled and the red cloth on the spine is just a little faded. Board edges a little rubbed and bumped and there is a split to the top half of the lower board hinge, without any loss, but overall this is a very good copy of this classic book.
