FIRST EDITION. 8vo. A neat previous owner name on the front free endpaper, otherwise a very good, tight copy in publishers original black cloth with gilt lettering on front board and spine. There is a little of the usual toning to the page edges but this is a clean and fresh copy throughout. The cloth is a little rubbed and bumped to the edges but overall a very good book, inside and out. In a damaged original dustwrapper which has lost most of the front inner flap and has some darkening to the spine, but still looks reasonably good on the shelf. ------- A Haycraft-Queen cornerstone, superbly filmed by Alfred Hitchcock, starring Laurence Olivier and Joan Fontaine.
