DELUX LIMITED EDITION SET. 12 Volumes. 8vo. (7.6 x 5.2 inches). Although a reprint of the 1941 uniform edition this special Edition-De-Luxe is one of 165 special numbered and leather bound sets, of which 160 are for sale. This set are all uniform, being number 113. Illustrated with 48 fine full page etchings by Philippe Jullian, each with a tissue guard. A clean and bright set throughout. Original publishers light blue lambskin leather bindings with gilt lettering and decoration to the spines. Top edges gilt. Some rubbing and minor chipping to the edges of the spines on most volumes to some degree or other, particularly on volume one. A couple of the volumes are cracked, but holding firm, to the inner hinges. The board corners on a few volumes are a little rubbed and bumped but the gilt on the spines is bright and generally the bindings are still attractive and show well on the shelf. Each volume with a small bookseller label of Henry Sotheran Ltd of sackville Street in London to the front pastedown endpaper.
