SIGNED LIMITED EDITION. (9.2 x 6.3 inches). One of only 40 copies, this not numbered but marked AP and signed by the artist on the colophon. Complete with 24 delightful wood engravings by O'Connor printed from the original blocks by Jonathan Stephenson at The Rocket Press, on hand made Zerkel paper, in blue, brick red, brown and green, each one either signed or initialled by O'Connor in pencil below the image. The title and colophon pages and all 24 loose sheets are housed in a green paper chemise within a beige buckram covered portfolio folder with a green printed wood engraving mounted on the front panel. A little faint spotting to the top of the front panel otherwise a fine copy. ------ The engravings were originally commissioned by Hal Cheetham for his privately printed volume entitled 'La Vida Breve' which was issued in 1991. ----- O'Connor attended the Royal College of Art during the 1930's where his teachers included Eric Ravilious, John Nash and Robert Austin. Each of them influenced him, but it was from Ravilious that he learned his great love of wood engraving.
