PAINTED TAPESTRY. And its application to interior decoration.Practical lessons in tapestry painting with liquid colour.Translated by R.Bucknall,architect.

Lechertier,Barbe,And Co.London.,1879.

FIRST ENGLISH EDITION.Tall 8vo.(10 x 6.7 inches).Illustrated with 6 full page plates, five in colour.Contains a very interesting 26pp catalogue of colours and materials for tapestry painting, oil painting,&c. from the firm of Artists' colourmen and stationers (and this books publishers) Lechertier,Barbe, and Co of Regent Street in London.A very good clean copy in publishers cloth with gilt lettering to front board and spine.Triple ruled border on boards, gilt to the front, blind to the rear.Spine a little faded but still a bright copy. There is a production fault inside both boards where the coated yellow free endpaper has stuck to the opposite pastedown along the inside one inch all along the board.Presumably this was caused by using too much glue when binding the book and it has soaked through the binding gauze and pastedown endpaper.Aside from this it is a very good copy of this interesting book.:.
