REPRINT DULAC EDITION. Large 8vo. (9.6 x 7.4 inches). Finely illustrated with 12 fine full page coloured plates by Edmund Dulac. A fine and clean copy, finely bound, for Asprey of London, in full dark blue morocco leather. Spine with five raised bands, each decorated with a gilt wavy line. Compartments double ruled, fully decorated and lettered in gilt. Boards with gilt ruled and wavy lined centre panel with floral corner pieces. Outer boards with wavy line and ruled gilt borders, again with floral corner decorations. Board edges ruled in gilt. Marbled endpapers. Turn-ins ruled and decorated in gilt. All edges gilt. A fine copy. The binding is not signed but is certainly the work of a master bookbinder. Housed in a tissue paper lined purple box from Asprey of Bond Street in London. Contains a biographical preface, biography of Omar Khayyam and the text of the first, second and fifth, plus variations in the third, editions by Fitzgerald.
