Oblong 4to. (12 x 9.4 inches). A nice wide margined copy with all edges untrimmed. Illustrated with engraved title & 63 engraved views, each with a descriptive leaf of letterpress opposite. Originally issued in 1787 with just 48 views, this re-issued enlarged edition is complete with 63 plates. Good strong impressions of the engravings. In early marbled paper covered boards and with a new spine of burgundy Morocco leather with raised bands. The compartments are ruled and lettered in gilt. With the ex libris bookplate of Winston Churchill's daughter, Mary Spencer - Churchill, mounted onto the inner front board. An attractive series of views of Britain and Wales from the late 18th and early 19th centuries including the Churchill's ancestral home, Blenheim House in Oxfordshire.
