Dussel Verlag. Dusseldorf. 1913, 1913.
FIRST EDITION. 4to (11.2 x 7.8 inches). 2pp text, in German, forward by Friedrich Diesel. Complete with 21 fine full page wood cut engravings showing Aufseeser's remarkable Modernist style, akin to a tapestry pattern using puzzle shapes to form the image. A bright, tight near fine copy in publishers grey paper covered boards with black line illustration and lettering to front board, the rear left plain. Grey cloth spine with minor rubbing and wear to top and bottom. Neat two line inscription on front blank endpaper but overall a lovely example of this, the artist's very rare first book. An interesting set of illustrations by the influential designer and artist Aufseeser (1880-1940), an important figure in the development of the modernism movement. A rare book. Only five physial copies listed on Worldcat, 3 in German Libraries and two in the USA, at Princeton and The New York Public Library.
