FIRST FOUR VOLUME ILLUSTRATED EDITION. A reissue using the sheets of the 24 fortnightly parts, and the 3 volume edition which were originally issued in 1933 to 1934. Large 8vo. (8.6 x 5.9 inches). Each volume fully illustrated with photos, maps, plans, facsimiles and portraits. A fine and clean set in the publishers original dark red morocco grained cloth bindings with gilt lettering to the front boards and spines. Double blind ruled borders on front boards. Wreath and sword motif to the front boards in blind and the spine in gilt and silver. Marbled endpapers. Top edges gilt. A hint of rubbing to the extremities but overall a fine and bright set, the gilt in the bindings still vibrant and bright. This is the fully illustrated version of Churchill's six volume history The World Crisis, which was published between 1923 and 1931. --- Cohen. A69.9.d.
