The title page and frontis with a full colour double page illustration and 42 black and green printed illustrations, all but one full page, throughout the text. A very clean, fresh copy. Finely bound for Inman of New York, probably by the Harcourt Bindery, in mid twentieth century full tan morocco leather. Spine with three raised bands, each with gilt piping. The compartments ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt. Boards with double gilt ruled borders. Board edges with single gilt ruled lines. Turn-ins with decorative roll and double ruled lines, all in gilt. Marbled endpapers, top edge gilt. Neat previous owner bookplate on the front pastedown endpaper. A fine and attractively bound copy of this uncommon edition.
