SECOND EDITION. Small 8vo. (5.5 x 3.7 inches). Fully illustrated with many full page and smaller wood engravings throughout the text. A very good copy, finely bound in contemporary full green calf binding with raised bands to spine, each with gilt dotted lines. Compartments double ruled and fully decorated in gilt. Brown leather label, ruled and lettered in gilt. Gilt ruled border on boards. Front board with gilt stamped illustration of a building with Latin motto and the date 1830 within an oval gilt line. Plain green endpapers. Neat previous owners presentation inscription on front blank endpaper. A small blemish to the gilt on the front board and couple of light scratches to the leather but overall a pretty little binding. ----- Published under the direction of the Committee of General Literature and Education, appointed by the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge.
