Foxing throughout many of the pages otherwise very good copy in contemporary bindings of half red morocco leather. Spines with four raised bands, the compartments ruled and lettered in gilt. Marbled paper on boards. Marbled endpapers. Small ink number to the top of each front blank free endpaper. Some rubbing to the paper on the boards and to the edges but overall a very good attractive set of this classic work of French literature, published just five years after the first edition.
